Greetings everyone! I am new to this but I will try to tell you a bit about myself. I am a disabled, homebound, 53 year old mom/grandma to beautiful 7 and 8 year old boys. They are my grandson's, but I have adopted them to try to give them  a" better life".   I took them under wing at ages of 1 year and 1 week old, relatively. 

Up until now, I have been doing okay by them. I am in the process of getting settled into a rental in Georgia. I came from Michigan, which I now find had much more to offer the disabled or low income family. I moved to Georgia after I found I have to have a leg amputated. I need to be near someone who can take care and nuture my boys during my hospitalization and my recovery. 

However, since moving to Georgia, I have had to give up on many of the benefits I had in Michigan.  I have never experienced this type of poverty before!  Georgia is a state not inclined to help the poor or needy. I do not want to go on, talking about my woes, as most of you have heard so many crying out or have troubles of your own.  If you want to know more, please read my blog.  Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to read this profile page...please keep us in your prayers.

Starting over is sometimes difficult.  After re-locating based on a decline in the Economy in Lansing, Michigan.  I have found Traverse City, MI to be just as bad.  Two jobs I have worked have gone out of business.

 As an online student with University of Phoenix and past employment in computers - there is optimism of a return to steady work.

Recieving food assistance and utility assistance for the first time in life.  It is a very humbling experience to need this.  Also very eye opening as I see so many people in need.

I am a 76 year old grandmother in bankruptcy and totaled my car a couple weeks ago. Rental cars are eatinig me up and I need help in every way.Right now, I am trying to find a low cost car that will provide adequate transportationi so I can get back and forth to work. Am struggling to keep my house, bought 11 years ago, small but enough for me and my two kittens. Am experiencing some makpr medical issues now. and recently had a major medication interaction.

If anyonw knows of help, would appreciate it.

I am just like any other struggling college student stuggling. I am a freshman at Central Michigan University and am having a hard time paying for my food. I moved out of the dorms due to that fact my room mates were stealing my food and personal belongings.. ex:food, money, clothes exc. and now am living in an appartment complex with my sister Danielle and two other girls. I do not have a job, but have applied just about everywhere.With no income coming in it makes it difficult for me to put food on the table let alone myself.  My parents are no longer able with any income due to a forclosure on our home in Traverse City.. and was just told yesterday that they are moving to Houston, Texas on the 17th of The new year. I am struggling to make ends meet with school, food and other electricity bills and cell phone bills. I need some of this weight lifted off my shoulders- and its hard enough not having money but, not having anything to eat is worse. Anything that you could do or help me would be a blessing.
